Castavious Henderson was born and raised in Southern California and has played every sport under the sun. He is a devoted husband and father of two young children and has since devoted himself to understanding the game of golf, which lead him to become a Class “A” PGA Professional and graduate from the Professional Golfers Career College.
Castavious’ passion for teaching comes from his grandparents who founded a private elementary school in Culver City. His grandfather, who was a pastor, is in La Verne University’s sports hall-of-fame for 5 sports. Castavious has over 10 yrs. experience teaching the game of golf to students of all ages and ability levels. Before the game of golf, his love of teaching started as an afterschool math tutor, high school volleyball coach, YMCA basketball coach, and is now focused on bringing joy to any player that chooses to play golf.
Early in his career, he began working for Golf Digest “Top 100” clubfitter Novogolf as a club builder and fitter. It is very important to understand the role that clubs play in producing a golf shot. The clubs should fit your swing, don’t force your swing to fit the clubs.
The best way to describe Castavious’ approach to the golf swing is to be “tension free”. Tension causes the body to tighten up and stops the club from flowing freely. Castavious is very proud to give his knowledge and expertise to all players that become part of the Lion Golf Academy family!
